Garland Leisure Continues Expansion by Acquiring Eddie’s Billericay
- The only way is Essex! -
Garland Leisure Ltd continues to expand its leisure portfolio with the acquisition of Eddies Billericay, a family entertainment centre (FEC) situated adjacent to the station.
This acquisition was achieved through Garland’s purchase of Starburst (South East) Ltd, which owns Eddie’s Billericay.
Edward Symmons’ Hospitality & Leisure division acted for the vendor in the sale of Eddies Billericay, which comprises a 14 lane bowling centre, with snooker area at Radford Way, Billericay, Essex. It is held on a 25 year lease expiring in 2024.
Garland’s growing portfolio includes 11 tenpin bowling centres acquired from AMF Bowling late last year and five acquisitions earlier this year – of Blackpool Bowl, Aldershot Bowling, Strykers in Wolverhampton and Lakeside Superbowl, Stirchley.
Mehdi Afshar, MD of Garland Leisure comments, “I am delighted that we have been able to secure our 16th centre and are confident that this site will be a great addition to our fast growing portfolio. We have a further 4 acquisitions agreed all of which are expected to be concluded over the next few weeks and have a requirement for more centres nationally.”
Colin White of Edward Symmons LLP comments, “Having completed the sale of Gillingham Ice Bowl for our client previously we are pleased to have been able to facilitate this transaction which will enable our client to continue to pursue other leisure acquisitions in the future. It is also encouraging to see that there remains a market from entrepreneurs attracted to the fast moving leisure sector.”
